Reference Photos

One good photo is important - sharp focus (especially around the eyes), natural light where possible, and a pose that looks like them. Extra photos and an insight into their personality helps me capture some of their spirit.

Here are a couple of examples of reference photo vs the final paintings:

Turnaround Time

Please allow around 4–6 weeks from when your portrait is started. This allows time for the paint to cure properly before varnishing and shipping. If you have a deadline - a gift, for example - just let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate your request.

Hugo & Harley

"I was genuinely speechless when I saw the portraits in real life.

The detail is incredible, and the first thing I noticed was how perfectly they captured Hugo and Harley. The portraits don't just look like them, they've got their personalities in there too, which I honestly didn't expect a painting to be able to do. Having them up in our home makes me smile every day.

They're such a gorgeous tribute to two special members of the family. If you're thinking about a pet portrait, I couldn't recommend Gill enough. The care and talent that goes into each portrait is outstanding and you end up with something you'll treasure for years.

It's so much more than a photo. A photo captures a moment, but this captures everything you love about your pet."

Price Guide

Prices are for a single head-and-shoulders subject painted in oils, and include UK mainland postage and a Certificate of Authenticity.

Have a specific size or frame in mind? I'm happy to quote for that.

Notes

Paintings are supplied unframed, however if you would like help with framing options I’m happy to advise.

Stretched canvas can be hung directly on the wall, or framed in a float (tray) frame for a more finished look

Canvas board is thinner and can fit standard frame sizes, making framing more straightforward and widely accessible.(note that oil paintings should never be framed behind glass or perspex)

If you’re unsure which option is best, I’m always happy to advise.

Terms & Conditions - I urge you to please read my Terms and Conditions page which gives more details about commissions, payment, shipping and refund policy.
